I teach one-hundred-and-seventy diverse "Young Scientists" and "Science Scholars".
I call my 6th graders, the "Young Scientists", because they are the youngest group of "Scientific Explorers" in our school. They are learning how to speak, write, and think scientifically. My 7th Graders, the "Science Scholars," engage, and typically excel in a rigorous program of scientific inquiry. Many of them go on to attend distinguished high schools like Bronx Science and Stuyvesant.
Our school has a Health Science focus, and our students represent a wide range of socio-economic, ethnic, cultural, and academic backgrounds. Twenty-four of my students, this year, have learning disabilities and individual learning plans. All of my classes are filled with enthusiastic, energetic, and curious learners.
My role is to furnish them with the knowledge, skills, and resources they need to succeed, and become life-long learners.
