My students are high school freshmen. Our school is located in a low economic area in WV. The students are dedicated and hardworking. They are respectful and take pride in their school also. A nursing home is located next to our school, and the students wanted to go visit the residents. Last year, the students made blankets to give to the residents there. This year we called ahead and the nurses said they would like the students to come and play board games with the residents.So my students initiated the "Board Game Project." They chose the board games they would like to purchase, and they will go to the nursing home at least twice a month to visit the residents and play board games. The students are very excited and anxious to spend time with the elderly men and women at the nursing home.Hopefully ABC Family and other donors will make this project possible.
