I teach in a Title I school which is in a high poverty area and most of the time these families lack the proper resources in order to fully support their children's education. Many families are receiving government assistance and cannot afford to invest money or time in their child's education, most of the time because the grandparents are raising their grandchildren. Other times, parents may be working too much in order to support their family, negligent, incarcerated, or deceased. It is heart-breaking to look into the lives of these underprivileged kids and you wish you could do more.
