I currently teach students with special needs, ranging from grades 4th through 6th. I teach at a Title 1 school in the North Sacramento area. My students work really hard despite having a disability. They enjoy Morning Meetings, where they get to share their personal stories, what they ate for dinner last night, and how their weekend went! Through these shared stories, my students continue to learn what empathy really means and what it means to understand how others may feel.
