Our class' diversity is what makes it exciting and challenging. The first thing we learn is respect and tolerance to our differences and that our classroom is equitable, where everyone will receive instruction according to what they need and the talents they can share. This means not everyone will be doing exactly the same thing at the same time. Our classroom welcomes English Language Learners, migrant students whose families leave and return more than once in the school year, students with a specific learning disability, ADHD or autism. Most of these children are proud to share that this school year 2016-017, they passed their state assessment for the first time, when they themselves did not believe they could. Since Day 1 I shared with both, children and parents, that the journey was not going to be easy, but I will always try my best to make it fun.
