Home Sweet Classroom! We all like to be comfortable when we are working on a task or project. Many of us have a favorite spot at home where we get cozy with our books, magazines, phones, etc., Pleasure or work we like to be comfortable. My students have the same needs in the classroom.
I don't require my students to stay seated at their desk when completing a task or independent reading time. My students are encouraged to move around the room to find a comfortable spot where they can produce their best work with minimal distraction.
The variety of seating choices I have chosen along with several yoga balls already in our classroom will support student learning by giving them choices for a comfortable learning environment.
