My project entails changing the classroom landscape. Gone are the days of rows of desks and teacher at the front of the classroom. Today, classrooms are becoming collaborative learning and working places, where teachers are mentors and coaches.
Students have more control over their learning in regards to time, place, path and pace. With that in mind, my project is one where I want to provide a flexible learning environment. I want students to have a choice over the type of seating and groupings they need to learn. In order to do this I need to employ alternative seating and working areas. For example, round tables, lowered desks, stools and floor cushions. My goal is to have a classroom that has a variety of work spaces that will meet my students needs.
