The art supplies will allow my children to create pieces of art, and creatively respond to their work.
It is amazing what children will create when given the time, supplies and inspiration.
In our Montessori classroom, students complete research and have lessons in many different areas. Students can show what they have learned through artwork.
The most sought after materials for these tasks are clay and canvas. Children love to manipulate clay with their hands and create new things. This work is fantastic for their hand/eye coordination and fine motor skills. In order to keep clay from drying out, we need air tight containers for this and other painting supplies.
Painting on paper can be fun, but nothing beats the feeling of creating a real painting on canvas. In our classroom, we strive to create experiences that are as authentic as possible. Canvases, paint, brushes, easels, and palettes will help the child feel like a real artist.
