A raised bed grow box will allow my students to learn in new and exciting ways. Gardening offers hands-on, experiential learning opportunities in a wide array of subjects, including the natural and social sciences, social skills, responsibility, math, reading and writing, art, and nutrition. Students will participate in caring for our indoor classroom garden daily. Many of my students are raised in town and have little access to nature. This project will bring the outdoors in. Students will participate in planting, watering and caring for the tomatoes we grow. Students will learn responsibility, gentleness and social skills by working together to care for these plants. We will use the plants growth as an opportunity to study measurement and the tomatoes to study nutrition! This project will provide so many new and exciting ways to learn
