Our school is a Title I school with a diverse group of students. 30 different languages are spoken at our school! Many of the students do not have access to books or computers in their homes. They enjoy coming to school but do not like to come to the library. Over half of the students are currently reading below grade level. I am a new librarian this year and the old librarian was here for 30+ years. The library has gradually become outdated with shortages of funding available for books. The library currently only has 8 items per student and has 99% that are outdated (over 5 years old) in time sensitive areas like math and science sections.
