My name is Eleni and I am an Art Teacher at Steinway Elementary. I became a member of the Donors Choose community to seek donations for my art class because access to quality materials is essential for fostering creativity and self-expression in young artists. Many of my students come from under-resourced backgrounds, and without the proper tools, their ability to explore and develop their artistic potential is limited. Art allows students to build confidence, problem-solving skills, and critical thinking, while also offering them a powerful outlet for expressing their unique voices. By providing them with the materials they need, we can give them the opportunity to create, experiment, and learn in ways that inspire their growth.
