Our daily classroom gets so busy focused on math, reading, writing, science, and social studies. But now, as we have time to learn at home, we also have time to appreciate the beauty of our world through art. So many of the students in 7th and 8th grade are creative, and as a teacher I find myself forgetting to let that creativity flow as I focus on the state testing and the next standard.
Artistic expression, even if taught from a distance, is something that should be shared by all students. I will distribute supplies and have a weekly art class presented live via Zoom. These supplies should last until the end of the school year - whether we are learning from home or we get to return to class.
