My Kindergarten (K2) students are playful, joyful thinkers, readers, creators and learners. They are English language learners- Spanish, Haitian Creole, and Cape Verdean Creole are languages most strongly represented with our group- and in our Sheltered English Classroom, they are working hard to learn a new language and adjust to a new culture and country. Our school is in the heart of the city and my students reflect the broad diversity of our community. Every day they come to class knowing they will be seen, valued, and celebrated just as they are right now. We begin each day with an affirmation that concludes, "I am amazing". And indeed, they are!
I am honored to play a role in helping them grow towards their full potential.
