Through my Bound to New Adventure project I am confident we will create a space of increased literacy and love for reading. We provide at least 15 minutes each day for students to read; providing this variety of books will allow the students to discover new passions, realities about themselves, and a deeper appreciation for reading. Beyond this, many of my students do not have access to books at grade level outside of school.
Giving my students the chance to delve into the many worlds of literature during school time and beyond will allow them to grow as humans, learners, and difference makers. Furthermore, the literature provided will allow students to obtain a deeper comprehension and appreciation for literacy.
Lastly, many of my students enjoy creating stories and speaking on topics they are passionate about. Finding books that they get entangled in just may spark the next James Patterson, J.K. Rowling, or Maya Angelou. Bound together, bound for adventure, bound for greatness, all through the binding of a book.
