I teach World History, US History, Government and Economics to students in the Special Education Program. All of the students in my classes are Historians when they step in our room! Historians are regularly engaging with the learning through projects, collaboration, reading, investigation, and creation. There is daily technology use in our classroom to support daily engagement with lessons, assessments/diagnostics, and to supplement learning. I am committed to fostering a positive classroom culture where there is mutual respect, fun, and rigor. It is important that all Historians in my class are both supported appropriately but also challenged. Historians are encouraged to be critical consumers of history and news. We learn about the past so that they may become the future leaders who promote a better world.
