Many of the families I work with do not have books in their homes. It is not because they don't want them, but because they cannot afford them. As families are adjusting their routines and experiences due to COVID-19 and libraries not being easily accessible; providing families with their own books is empowering. It allows them to build literacy skills through out their day, not just when I am able to visit or have a zoom conference. I want them to have books that are educational and relatable. Books that are bilingual, have sign language, represent different cultures, diverse families and people with different needs.
