My students would benefit from flexible seating options. This would help them have a successful learning environment for their growing minds and incorporate their bodies in motion. A classroom environment should be conducive to open collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking. This simply cannot be done when kids are sitting in chairs all day. I have several energetic first graders that are constantly moving around in their seats. They often preferred standing rather than sitting. Unfortunately, I do not have any flexible seating options in my classroom.
This project would help redesign my classroom by swapping out old chairs to a positive learning environment that fits their needs in order to succeed.Â
The students will have the power to choose when they feel they need another seat option in order to have the best learning environment.
Studies suggest that children who participate in short bouts of physical activity within the classroom have more on-task behavior, with the best improvement seen in students who are least on-task initially.
I would like to give my students the responsibility of seating choices. I am sure this would help my students become more self-aware of what types of seating and environment help them learn best. They're empowered by the opportunity to have choice
This donation will help keep my learners engaged. This project will help accelerate my students reading development, improve comprehension, and get excited. More than likely these options are not accessible to this community and my students. I can already see a number of positive developments with your support.
