I have requested notebooks and folders for my students because they are items I need my students to have. Teaching at a Title I school can be a challenge for many reasons, including having the basic school supplies needed for a successful classroom. School should be a safe and inviting place of refuge. In my classroom we have a zen zone. This is used for students who struggle with anxiety, depression, anger management, and hormonal fifth grade days. I am wanting to use the diffuser and essential oils in our zen zone. The succulents will be on display throughout the room as well as in the zen zone to bring the added peace and clarity. I also requested the stools so that the students can have more flexible seating options. I have a few flexible seating options in my classroom already and would love to add more for those students who benefit from it. I have requested book bins to aid in organization. My students have tables (rather than desks) and need a place to store their books and other materials.
