We are a small continuation high school of less than 200 students with an even smaller budget. Most of our students come from low-income households... and we often have a few who are homeless. When my students come into my classroom -- a safe, clean place with materials with which to express themselves and learn new skills -- I believe they feel like they can relax a little, get some distance from their stress, and find new ways to relate to the world and problem-solve. I am the only art teacher at Monterey High School, and we are always in need of basic supplies, and sometimes in need of some unusual materials for new curriculum and projects. Thank you for taking time to consider helping us out :)
