We are the Ellsworth Explorers, because learning is an exploration. Our philosophy is that you have to be brave to learn. Our dream is to have everyone reading at grade level, and feeling successful at math. Science and social studies are our passion. We are having fun on our expedition. Our class is a 3rd/4th combination in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. We are a fun happy group that loves learning in unique and different ways. We really enjoy doing experiments and interactive lessons. Our community is very small, and we live in the wonders of nature. Many of us live off the land and are true outdoors people. Many suffer from extreme poverty (78% free and reduced price lunch). A few do not have running water or public power. Even though some of us have obstacles, we all come to school eager to learn.
