Collaborative learning strategies in my classroom are a daily occurrence. Students peer revise work, teach each other key concepts, work to complete activities and projects, peer read, discuss key concepts, and more! With the current use of desks and the arrangement, students are inhibited from successful peer to peer collaboration.
With the six round activity tables, students will have a shared space for learning. This will create a learning environment that is student-centered. Rich conversation and collaboration will lead to students who are empowered learners/speakers, independent thinkers, and cooperative problem solvers. English Learners will have an environment that they feel safe in and are more willing to take risks in their language development.
