We are a class of 3rd grade students in a low income district, with few supplies. In the first year of upper elementary school, we begin learning to explore math concepts such as fractions and place value in operations. The selected math kits will provide manipulates for students to physically move items, which will help them to understand parts of a whole, how to compare fractions, and how they are related. They will also be able to gain a better understanding of number sense with base ten manipulatives, allowing them to visualize problems such as borrowing in subtraction, regrouping in addition, and estimation.
Your generous donation will help this motivated group of learners explore and have a greater understanding of math concepts.
