My students are 6th, 7th, and 8th grade English Language Learners (ELLs). The majority of them have recently immigrated from the Dominican Republic and speak little English. Transitioning to a new country, a new school, and a new way of life is very daunting - but they are extremely resilient and hardworking! We work hard in our class because it is essential that my students develop their social and academic English language skills as quickly as possible.
