Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. During independent work time they choose a location in the classroom that is comfortable and conducive for learning. Currently, my students are limited in the learning environment because of space and the size of the desks. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. When my students are able to move around comfortably in the classroom they are more engaged in learning. My students are visibly more engaged in their class work and more collaborative with their peers when classroom space is not an issue.

About my class
