My classroom library is the single most important part of my classroom. Every cent of this project will help put books in students' hands. I firmly believe the best gift we can give students is not only the ability to read, but a passion for reading. Lifelong readers need opportunities to put their hands on books that will change the way they see, understand and explore the world.
Readers need to find books where they see themselves, and see each other.
A rich classroom library gives kids a chance to find books together, show each other books they've enjoyed and even bail out of books they just don't like during the precious reading times in every school day. I hope these kids read, re-read, share, love and sometimes even lose the books in my library.
