Our special education classroom consist of children with specific needs ranging from mild to moderate. My students have so much enthusiasm for learning but often times are disheartened in the general education classroom. Our room is a safe haven where errors are normalized and corrections are celebrated. Our school is Title I and the students I work with are high poverty. I want my students to have the opportunity to access their education and become confident in their abilities. When students fall behind grade level they start to get frustrated and disenchanted with school and academics. I want to give my students the resources they need to be confident and successful.
