I teach at a public charter school in a large city. While our school district is huge and has lots of resources, charter schools do not get to share access to many of those resources and are sometimes left doing more with less. My students are motivated, and eager to learn. They are interested in the changing world around them, their peers, and are both excited and overwhelmed about reading novels and making text-to-self, text-to-the world, and text-to-text connections. I am constantly seeking new ways to challenge them to continue to push their limits and achieve their goals.
