Remember your 'terrible two's'? Probably not. But did you know that while you hounded your mother and father with your incessant need to find out the answer to the most important question,"why?", your brain was growing by leaps and bounds. Processes that continue to boggle scientists were taking place making you smarter in so many ways. One of the most important ways was by increasing your ability to use and manipulate language. Meaningful interaction formulated and perfected your use of language, however, for those who have been deprived of those opportunities, seeing their own use of language and the models of others guides the students' growth and improves their ability to express their inner thoughts. Because of the limitations of the technology in the school, many opportunities to video chat with other schools with deaf language models are lost, many videos that could clarify understanding are not viewed, and students do not have the opportunity to see themselves sign to even know if what they say is understandable. This iPad and projector could fix all of this. The Apple TV is both a means of connecting these pieces of equipment without having to rely on a faulty computer network but also another window into the word of understanding through video. When your whole world must come to you through sight exclusively, seeing the right things at the right times is essential. With this technology, my students can learn more fully to communicate, live happier and healthier lives, and become better citizens of the world. Thank you for you consideration.
