I have 25 students each year on a large variety of reading levels. Classes each year consist of a high number of English Language Learners and many if not most come from low socioeconomic situations. My school's NYS ELA test scores have been falling over the last few years and I believe inspiring children and increasing comprehension and fluency is the key to turning around these scores.
