With the Yamaha Harmony Director, I will have a powerful teaching tool that will allow me to provide better instruction for my students with better pacing. I will be able to play pitches for my students, play along with my students, start a metronome, adjust the metronome for varied rhythmic subdivisions, all from the same spot in my classroom. The Harmony Director will also connect to my classroom's sound system, allowing for sound to be evenly projected to my students, something that is not currently possible with the piano I play in class. I will be able to provide better musical instruction for my students this way, as I reinforce essential concepts of beat and pitch.
Additionally, I often demonstrate different skills on different musical instruments, but I have no place to place those instruments while I teach. Having an instrument stand will allow me to keep my instruments in one place that is accessible, again helping me deliver better paced instruction.
Students have found great joy and peace in music during the pandemic. Many students have expressed to me that music is one of main reasons they come to school. My students deserve the very best educational experience I can give them in my band classroom, and I am confident that both of these tools will help me provide more engaging lessons to my students that maximize every instructional minute.
