My students are in a district with majority free and reduced lunch (80%) and majority live at or below the poverty level. Our district has faced budget cuts that have decimated the curriculum budget, not allowing any curriculum purchases. The kids love using computers to take their reading tests because of the instant feedback they get, and try their hardest to please their teachers. The students go to a building remodeled in 2000, but lacks many technological resources that kids know and thrive on today, building a foundation for skills later in life. Most things nowadays require a basic technology knowledge, and our students do not have the opportunities to master this as many districts around us.
