Students in my class vary in academic needs and abilities, but they also all have different learning styles. By using literacy stations in our classroom, I am able to add choice to reading and hone in on specific skills for students, while they are enjoying what they are doing in a routine way. Reading stations help improve comprehension skills, phonemic awareness, vocabulary and fluency skills even at a young age! For this, I am requesting phonics puzzles, reading match games, and write and wipe pockets, By keeping interactive and enticing materials in our classroom reading stations, students will want to become better readers on their own and be more motivated to work hard on their own.
