I currently teach 3rd grade in a low income neighborhood. Many of my students have limited opportunities due to the lack of funding at our school site.
Despite the many challenges my students face, they are among the brightest and most positive students I have had the privilege to teach. They work extremely hard and want to do well in school. They deserve the best the world can offer them in order to prepare them to become successful adults.
I am very proud of my students and the effort they put into school, even though they experience disadvantages such as poverty, a neighborhood that is high in crime, and the need to acquire English as a 2nd language.
My goal is to decrease the student dropout rate in high school. My way of doing that is to create a school environment that my students want to be a part of. Ðǿմ«Ã½ has helped me achieve goals that make the impossible possible for my students!
