My colleagues and I have been working diligently to navigate through all of the technology that has suddenly come along with virtual teaching. My goal is to make my class time a positive and memorable experience for my students. Their needs are changing fast, and in order to give them what they need, my technology needs seem to be fast-changing as well.
I am finding it very difficult to model letters and write words and sentences properly using the mouse as a writing tool. Without the iPad and Apple Pencil, I need to move the mouse very, very slowly to even be barely legible, yet as an ESOL teacher, my role is to demonstrate and model written language correctly. I know that using the proper tools, such as the iPad and Apple Pencil, would maximize the quality of our time together and increase the effectiveness of the instructional lessons.
