We would love to have our project funded because having a carpet and cushions will help make our students more comfortable when they come into our classroom. We do not have the resources for them, and we feel they deserve a comfortable place to sit when there is no room on the tables. We run our classes with centers, and because of the lack of space, our students end up working on the floor. In our centers, students work on reading, writing, and language learning skills. With these new items, our students can work on reading activities, audio phonics, word work, and various other assignments-just like they would in their own classroom! We want our students to be excited about their station and have a nice place to complete their work. For our new incomers who need to take a break, this can even serve as a purpose to comfort them when they are feeling stressed and upset. It would mean the world to us to give our students a more welcoming and comfortable environment to grow as learners!
