Yoga mats in my class will help students express their emotions and behaviors in healthier ways. Doing yoga can help ease anxiety in children who are unfamiliar to school or those who are transitioning from a different school. Our preschoolers are stressing over making friends and even their peers bullying them. Yoga will encourage gross motor development, patience, and mental clarity.
Sound meditation using a “Quartz Singing Bowl” is another way I want to help my students to relax. Sound and or music mediation is believed to have a positive effect on your emotions and behavior as well. Sound meditation helps to increase children's attention span, reduces anxiety, helps kids connect to themselves, so that they have a better understanding of their emotions are better able to manage them, inspires kindness to others and overall helps kids feel happier and relaxed.
