My school is located in a rural county that had a tornado hit in April of 2011 and destroyed much of the school. The desks currently being used in my classroom were used before the tornado. The screws in the desk legs fall out on a daily basis which cause the desks to fall over while the students are working. Not only do they cause a distraction when they fall, but it also takes time to put the desks back together.
These tables will help reach the needs of my diverse students by increasing the collaborative, and creative learning environment they need. Their group work and stations will be able to have materials they need on their flat table top and not desks that are uneven. On a daily basis, students are working on STEM projects or stations while I am walking around assisting any student that may need help. Students will be able to model and have their practice STEM presentations in the classroom for other students to come observe before their live presentation day.
With your help in achieving classroom tables, my students will be able to better adapt to different learning environments, and overcome obstacles they might see when they are faced with group work/ collaboration in their future.
