In my classroom, these bike pedals will be available for all students to use during recess, movement breaks, or during regular lessons. Many third graders are kinesthetic learners, which means they learn best when they are actively moving, or doing a project. Kinesthetic learners often have difficulty in traditional classrooms.
Students shouldn't be forced to sit still. I am working my way toward a fully kinesthetic classroom in which students can sit, stand, balance, wiggle or fidget throughout the day in order to boost attention. These bike pedals will help students focus and produce their best work, not to mention provide much needed exercise! With your help, my students will have another wonderful option to help them meet their learning needs.
