Not being able to see my students, not being able to have books in your hand. Everything is virtual and online because of the pandemic.
This project will put a book in my 23 students hands. It will bring them back the excitement they would have when going to the school library. This project will give each student in my class the book "Fish in a Tree". Our class although virtual would do a novel study. Therefore students will need this book at home.
This book is a book about a student who struggles with a learning disability. Although not always in the form of learning disabilities, my students struggle with different obstacles physically, mentally, and emotionally. Many of these students struggle with anxiety because of the testing, or pressure put on them. Now with an entire new way of learning thrown at them they have even more struggles to surpass. That is why within this project there are goldfish stuffed animals, students can read out loud to. This helps with peer talk and speech. These fish will also help throughout the year for kids to feel more independent and confident with their reading. They can be used to break students in small group as well. Also, this is the first year we have state testing for science so what better way to motivate them! Also, my class is known for my class goldfish Goldie, who is currently at home with me =).
