My classroom is filled with 25 energetic, unique, kind-hearted first graders. My kiddos come from various family backgrounds, with some having greater challenges than others. However, when they enter my classroom they know we are one big, loving family. With it being the beginning of the school year, I am still learning much about each individual student. The one thing that they all have in common is that they need movement to get their wiggles out. Our daily schedule is a tough one for first graders. We go each day from 8:25 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. without a break. Of course, I give my kiddos brain breaks, but that does not always do the trick. My students are deserving of the best, and I want to ensure that I create the best learning environment for them.
