Everyone who has ever been in a Kindergarten or First Grade classroom knows how important a carpet is. It is the central meeting point where all great learning takes place. It is warm, inviting and comforting.
Having a classroom rug will give these students the opportunity to come together and learn in a safe place that is free of distractions.
In the past, students sat on velcro circle spots, which were uncomfortable and very often a distraction.
A classroom rug will provide a distraction-free spot for everyone. I want my students to know that everyone is a part of our team. A rug will help reinforce that idea. Everyone will have a clearly-marked space to sit and learn or talk with their neighbor about new ideas. We will be able to meet there to read great literature, discuss important topics, and demonstrate projects.
