In Kindergarten, students are understandably "antsy". We don't expect them to be still ALL day long, but we do need them to be able to sit and do seatwork throughout the day. For some of these kids, sitting still is quite a task! In order to help with this, we would like to implement "flexible" seating. Flexible seating is having different types of seating arrangements throughout the classroom. Examples: wobble stools, yoga balls, floor mats, stability discs, and tension bands. We feel that this will be extremely beneficial for kindergarteners to have the freedom to wiggle and fidget in order to help keep them on task.
We are lucky enough to have almost all of this funded already. We still need 2 more wobble stools and some tennis balls to use as "foot fidgets". With the purchase of these items there will be 4 stools and 4 chairs with "foot fidgets" total in each kindergarten classroom.
