I feel as though I am not the only teacher that thinks my students need more learning time in science and social studies. TIME for Kids is a weekly magazine that has a focus on science and social studies and covers exciting topics such as weather, community, ancient history, how cities work, black history, women's history, etc.
A few things I love about TIME for Kids is all students get a copy of the magazine that we will focus on each week. This makes it easy for students to practice close reading and underlining. There are activities on each magazine as well, perfect for students to collaborate with one another. Also, I will have access to digital copies, so we can read the magazine as a whole class on the projector. Lastly, with this bundle I will have access to timeforkids.com which has archived content and special features not included in the print magazine. This will give us access to related vocabulary, videos, pictures, and more, related to our magazine for the week.
This is a simple way to give students more learning opprotunities in science and social studies, and they truly love engaging with their Time for Kids magazines!
