Everyone likes to be rewarded for their work and my project, “Goodies for Great Effort” will provide snacks and small prizes for reaching learning goals. Some students are never acknowledged for the effort they make. However, the students in my class will earn tickets in class for reaching academic goals and trade them in at the school store weekly to “buy” goodies to reward their hard work and good attitudes. Snacks are a wonderful motivator for hungry teenagers!
You CAN eat an elephant a bite at a time and my aim is to teach students to plan their work and work their plan to make academic gains while rewarding their efforts along the way!
Because we are a Trauma-Informed School, we are making deliberate choices to meet our students where they are so that they may have academic; physical; and social support.
Can you help me by supporting this project to stock my school store with snacks and small prizes? I believe that every child counts and that if I can reach students where they are and bring their skill set knowledge base up while rewarding them with what they love, then I will have done a better job as a teacher. Thank you for partnering with our school and supporting this project because every child counts and every child matters.
