Nestled between the bustling commotion of the 710 freeway juncture and a close-knit family neighborhood sits Kelly Elementary. A K-8th school that challenges the status quo and seeks to provide students with a competitive 21st-century education. I work with 8th grade students to use modern technology in science, engineering, art, and mathematics. My classroom is a flexible seating, blended learning, inquiry based instructional space. My students are all the 8th grade students. This upcoming year, I plan to make STEAM/MakerSpace/ Design lab my principle engagement to drive my instruction. The students will engage in authentic Project Based Learning with Nanotechnology, Biomimicry, Robotics with Computer Programming, and Video Production pathways. In short, my classroom is a student-centered, interdisciplinary, relevant problem-solving think tank.
