As a bilingual teacher, every day my students and I face the social and academic challenges that exist in our school system. We are not only learning one language, but two, which makes things more difficult for us. Despite that, as people say: "Twice the language, twice the fun!" Every morning, my students welcome me with the biggest smiles on their faces, eager to learn and expand their little curious minds. My students love to explore, move, observe, do hands-on activities, and utilize all of their five senses in everything we are learning. I work at a school with a very high immigrant population. All of my students speak Spanish as their first language, but they are learning both English and Spanish. They were given the heritage of pursuing the "American Dream," however, they need tools to chase it, and my objective is to provide them with those tools, but I need your help in order to accomplish this.
