If funded, each carpet will serve a specific purpose and location, and will be used daily. The largest carpet will be used during shared reading, classroom meetings, math lessons, and read aloud time. The second largest rug will be used during small group instruction, and will be an area where my aide, the learning support teacher, and I can do additional work with learning support students, students learning English, and any students struggling with a particular topic. It's great to have an area to meet to reteach and reinforce skills for students who need additional support. The smallest carpet will be used during comfy reading time, where students can relax and enjoy books independently during literacy centers.
