I have 23 kindergarten students that all qualify for free or reduced lunch. 80% of my students are second language learners and they need many visuals and opportunities to interact with other students as well as technology. The only exposure they have to technology is what they experience in school. I am ecstatic to be able to provide greater exposure now that I have a SMART board. It is amazing to see how many new opportunities for learning this board has helped me create. Anytime we are learning about animals and I want to help my students make connections and see them in action, I just turn on the SMART board, download a short clip from the discovery channel and instantly, my students can see for example, a hermit crab tickling an anemone to put on his shell, while an octopus attempts to devour it....Amazing! I want to continue and expand my use of this device which is why I am asking for the Nonfiction Leveled Readers Interactive CD-ROM library set.
