Our kiddos are bold, funny, unpredictable, and carrying way more than most people ever see. They’re in that messy middle school season where emotions hit hard, friendships shift daily, and identity is still under construction. And for many of them, life outside of school is anything but calm or consistent. That’s where the Social/Emotional Support Team comes in. We show up every day with open hearts, firm boundaries, deep care—and a whole lot of snacks. We play mental chess all day long—reading the room, sensing what’s underneath the behaviors, and helping our kiddos regulate, reflect, and reset. The SEL portable is our home base. It’s not fancy (yet), but it’s a space where students can exhale, get real, and start again. It’s where conflict gets resolved, tears get wiped, laughter breaks out mid-meltdown, and kids slowly start to believe in themselves again. One kiddo, one moment, one breakthrough at a time. 💛
