The nonfiction section in our classroom library needs to be updated so that it reflects career opportunities that students may be interested in. Students will be able to check these books out in order to read about and explore different careers available in science. Hopefully, this will increase their personal options in choosing what career path they wish to take when entering high school. We are requesting books on careers including Engineers at Work, Astronomers at Work, Anthropologists at Work, The Octopus Scientists and more. Reading these books will provide insight they may need in order to focus on the different sciences necessary to provide the background for their future careers. They need to be aware of opportunities that are out there just waiting for them to step up and step out.
